Organizational Leadership

The concentration in Organizational Leadership is designed for adults who are seeking leadership and supervisory roles or who are already in those roles and want to enhance their leadership skills.

It will develop the skills necessary for serving in leadership roles in business, government, and non-profit sectors.

A concentration in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Health Care Administration is also available.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who graduate with a concentration in Organizational Leadership will be able to:

  • explain the major elements that comprise successful leadership;
  • apply organizational processes;
  • apply practical skills essential for success in their chosen professions and in their personal lives, including interpersonal relations, problem solving, team building, collaboration, motivation, and communication;
  • think creatively, ethically, and logically;
  • explain globalization's effects and opportunities;
  • integrate organizational and management theory with interpersonal competence;
  • assess leadership effectiveness using a coherent leader/follower model; and
  • apply ethical principles in implementing leadership decisions

  • apply organizational leadership competencies to health care administration;
  • discuss legal and ethical responsibilities in health care;
  • demonstrate the importance of understanding how diversity impacts health care, including patient treatment and the workforce.
