Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program – Laser Assembly

The graduate of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program is prepared to join the TRUMPF machine assembly or laser assembly teams and is able to build, start-up, and troubleshoot industrial machine tools in the assembly area.  Topics and learning outcomes covered during 940 hours of classroom instruction and 3088 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) include:

  • Core principles of mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing technology, and STEM.

  • Learn to manufacture a TRUMPF product (laser).

  • Gain technical knowledge and TRUMPF product knowledge through participation in classroom training at TRUMPF Training Department.

  • Gain knowledge of TRUMPF internal processes through completion of assignments in various departments.

The graduate of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program is prepared to join the TRUMPF machine assembly or laser assembly teams and is able to build, start-up, and troubleshoot industrial machine tools in the assembly area.  Topics and learning outcomes covered during 940 hours of classroom instruction and 3088 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) include:

Industrial Machine Tool Application Technician Apprenticeship Program

The graduate of the Industrial Machine Tool Application Technician Apprenticeship is prepared to join the TRUMPF application technician team and is able to program and operate machines, to perform feasibility and time studies upon customer requests.  Topics and learning outcomes covered during 971 hours of classroom instruction and 3047 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) include:     

  • Core principles of mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing technology, and STEM.

  • Develop skills in the practical use of machine tools, and the competitive presentation of machine tools to prospective or current customers (Lasers, Punches, Press Brakes, Tube Lasers and Laser Welding).

  • Gain technical knowledge and TRUMPF product knowledge through participation in classroom training at TRUMPF Training Department.

  • Gain knowledge of TRUMPF internal processes through completion of assignments in various departments. 

Industrial Machine Tool Service Technician Apprenticeship Program

The graduate of the Industrial Machine Tool Service Technician Apprenticeship Program will be able to be successful as a member of the TRUMPF field service technician team and install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial machine tools in the field. Topics and learning outcomes covered during 948 hours of classroom instruction and 3054 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) include:  

  • Core principles of mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing technology, and STEM.

  • Gain technical knowledge and TRUMPF product knowledge through participation in classroom training at TRUMPF Training Department with a focus on industrial machine tool installations, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

  • Gain knowledge of TRUMPF internal processes through completion of assignments in various departments.
