Competencies 

Medical Terminology for Medical Assistants (MD 903): 3 credits, lower division level
This course will cover medical terminology highlighting the structure of medical words, including prefixes, suffixes, word roots, combining forms and how to define medical words. Spelling, pronunciation and word building rules are emphasized. These skills will provide the student with a powerful foundation of knowledge for the language of medicine. The course consists of 100 hours of instruction.
