About the Reviewed Program
The mission of the Connecticut Technical High School System Adult Education Program is to 1) provide a unique and rigorous post-secondary learning environment that ensures student academic success and trade mastery and instills a zest for lifelong learning; 2) prepares students for career advancement, apprenticeships, and immediate productive employment; and 3) responds to employers' and industries' current and emerging and changing global workforce needs and expectations through business/school partnerships.

Anatomy and Physiology for Medical Assistants (Non-Lab): 3 credits, lower division level
This anatomy and physiology course teaches students the basic structure and functions of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems of the human body. The organ systems included in this course are integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, the senses, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, lymphatic, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. Disease and disorders of the organ systems, their diagnostic modalities and treatments are also emphasized.
Pharmacology for Medical Assistants (Non-Lab): 3 credits, lower division level
This pharmacology course teaches safe administration of medications beginning with the fundamentals of medication administration and progresses through the more commonly prescribed medications relating to specific body systems. Topics include practices governing the use, dispensing, administration, and storage of pharmaceuticals. Terminology relating to medications and the administration of medications is emphasized.
