About the Training Sponsor
The mission of Capital Community College is to provide access to higher education to diverse residents of the Greater Hartford region. Capital prepares individuals to transfer to four-year colleges through associate and certificate programs in academic and technical disciplines. Capital Community College's School of Workforce and Continuing Education offers non-credit certificate programs and workshops.

Nurse Aide Certification: 4 credits, lower division level
This course is designed to provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to function as a certified nurse aide. Basic human needs, the effects of aging and hospitalization on these needs and selected conditions which threaten these needs are examined. Selected nursing skills to meet basic human needs are performed, with the opportunity for students to practice these skills in both a college skills laboratory and a clinical setting. The course consists of 132 hours of instruction: 48 hours of classroom instruction and 84 hours of supervised skills laboratory and clinical laboratory instruction. CNA students receive a pass/fail grade.
