Transfer to Charter Oak
We have transfer articulation agreements with many community colleges. A transfer articulation agreement is a way for students to see how course credits earned at their institution can be applied at Charter Oak. Even if we do not have a transfer articulation agreement with your community college, we still will accept most credits from any accredited community colleges.
Why choose Charter Oak?
We're Online
All of our programs are online. In fact, we are Connecticut's ONLY public online college. We offer hundreds of online courses and the ability to complete your bachelor's in marketable areas like Public Safety Administration, Health Care Administration, Early Childhood Education and Information Systems to name a few.
Online equals flexibility! Most of our students are working. Many have families. Being able to log on at any time of the day or night to accomplish your coursework can be just the balance you need to manage your life. Through your courses, our online chats, discussion threads, and online networking groups, you'll engage with others who are also living their lives while completing their degrees!
We're Affordable
Many of you attended community college because of its affordability - and you want to finish your bachelor's by accumulating as little debt as possible. If you compare us with others across the state and the country, you will be surprised by how much you can save at Charter Oak - particularly if you are a Connecticut resident. Please see our Tuition and Fees for your low-cost comparison!
We have a Flexible Credit Transfer Policy
At Charter Oak, we want you to succeed. We accept up to 87 credits from accredited community colleges, and you can use mostly all of those credits in your bachelor's degree program. That's a great advantage!
We're Accredited
We are regionally accredited by NECHE (New England Commission of Higher Education), the same governing body that provides accreditation to major colleges and universities throughout New England. This should be an important factor in your decision-making.
